Graduated from the Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo (1991), Master of Medicine (Surgical Clinic) from the University of São Paulo (2002) with the study on the? Evaluation of renal trauma: demographic data and the role of CT scan as an exam of choice in diagnosis and treatment? and PhD in Medicine (Surgical Clinic) from the University of São Paulo (2006) with the thesis on the "Late Clinical, Morphological and Functional Evaluation of patients with renal trauma undergoing nonoperative treatment". He specializes in General Surgery from the Brazilian College of General Surgery (CBC), Digestive Surgery from the Brazilian College of Digestive Surgery (CBCD), Intensive Care from the Brazilian Association of Intensive Care Medicine (AMIB) and Emergency Medicine (ABRAMEDE). He is instructor of Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the Definitive Surgical Trauma Care Course (DSTC) of the International Association for Trauma Surgery and Intensive Care (IATSIC). He was an Assistant Physician at the Intensive Care Unit (1997-2003) and the Emergency and Trauma Surgery (2004-2012) of the Emergency Unit of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo (USP). He is currently a professor of Emergency Surgery and Trauma Surgery, Medical School, Bauru School of Dentistry, University of São Paulo. Has professional and academic experience in the following areas: General, Trauma and Emergency Surgery, Intensive Care; Traumatized care (pre and intra-hospital) and Medical Education. Main activities in the following subjects: Trauma and Emergency Surgery, Renal Trauma, Medical Emergencies, Trauma Indices, Intensive Care, Surgical Technique, Skills Laboratory, Medical Education, Academic Management, Clinical Management, Medical Internship, Clinical Simulation and interprofessional. He is a member of the REVALIDA Commission of the Anísio Teixeira Educational Research Institute (INEP) and Member of the National Executive Board of the Brazilian Emergency Cooperation Network (RBCE).
